2006-07-29 ~ 10:31 p.m. Live life Hey... I think many of u have probably given up on this website :(( Sorreeeee... China bans so many websites, sometimes it's difficult to get in and do any updates. Besides, life in SHanghai has become normal. I mean, I'm no longer a novice... but experienced as a resident there now! Anyway, for those of you who don't know this: I am in Barcelona, Spain right now. Been here for a month already. I'm doing a two-month course called Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching for Adults). It's a very intensive and practical course and it's equivalent to a half a Masters. So if I want to do a Masters in future, I get credits from DELTA. The course is seriously very tough... a 3000-word assignment each week (loads of reading and thesis writing) plus assessed teaching to different groups of Spanish adults. Whole new experience for me which I am having mixed feelings about. Barcelona is beautiful... the apartment that I am living in is cozy, and my flatmates are cool chicks. But... the course has too much mambo-jambo/terminology and if u know me, I'd say skip the crap and juz give me the gist! But of course, I still leave time for myself over the weekend to play really really hard. Spanish lifestyle is such that dinner only starts after 9pm so u can imagine that post-dinner is midnight onwards. So yeah... party party till 8am, 9am the next day... gosh, I feel young again!!! Now, lest u think I am being too 'wild' abot all this... let me justify myself. Go with the flow unless the flow offends you. Otherwise, when in Rome, do as the Romans. Get with the program. Geddit? But most importantly, never compromise your beliefs and values. For me, it's all about enjoying life at the moment and seeing the world. So I'll be doing my Spanish experience and European traveling for 3 months before I return to Shanghai... or who knows? Maybe I might find a job or fall in love with someone, somewhere, something... Live life!
